Why we ditched the calendar format for our content calendars

There are a number of reasons we ditched the calendar format for our content calendars.

1. Community feedback made us realise that the more general content ideas we were suggesting were good but they were struggling to figure out how to execute them.

2. There’s only so many general content ideas one can have without repeating themselves and we wanted to make sure that every calendar was offering some thing new.

3. We are an independent business, much like you, and trying to come up with 30-odd new general content ideas every month was becoming increasingly difficult and time consuming.

Sometimes, it’s okay to take a step back and take a different direction if it’s no longer serving you or the people who it’s supposed to be helping. We pride ourselves in offering sound advice, ideas and expertise which arms small businesses with the tools and confidence they need to execute their digital marketing. And after a year of monthly content calendars, we decided to take a different direction, which is totally okay.

So what direction are we taking?

Well, we’re focusing our resources on industry. Starting at the top level, as we release more and more we’ll get more and more specific.
